AUSTRALIAN WOMENS FUTSAL TEAM TRAINING CAMP IN ADELAIDE
The FAF Australian Women’s Futsal team will meet up in Adelaide this weekend in what will be the final trail to confirm the 12 players that will represent Australia in the AMF Women’s World Cup.
The 3rd AMF Women’s Futsal Wold Cup will take place in Barcelona, Spain from the 18th to 26th November 2017.
The squad of 20 players that were selected from performances at the FAF National Club Championships that were held in Cairns in October last year and the more resent FAF National Championships that were held in Adelaide in January will be put through their paces at the Parks Recreation & Sports Centre as Head Coach Carlos Cravo, Assistant Coach George Paschalidis and National Technical Director Marty Calvert look to finalise the team for the World Cup.
This will be the first time FAF are sending an Australian Women’s team to the World Cup, nevertheless Head Coach Carlos Cravo is very excited about the squad and feels that the Aussie Girls will stand a very good chance from what he has seen so far, “Although we don’t know what group we are in just yet we are still very optimistic with the very strong contingent of players we have to pick from” said Mr Cravo.
The ladies fly into Adelaide Tomorrow and will spend 2 days in a high intensity training environment as each of them vie for a spot in the final team, once the final team is announced they will then be put into various training camps around Australia as they prepare to travel to Barcelona where they will spend a week acclimatising, playing some friendlies and making final preparations in the lead up to the World Cup.
