Marty Calvert joins the FAF team!

Marty joins FAF not only as South East Queensland Futsal regional director but also as the newest member of the FAF board, Marty has been involved in the sport of Futsal for 28 years, first as a player then as a coach and administrator. Having represented both NSW and QLD at different times, Marty also represented Australia for over 12 years with the highlight being a part of the World Cup team in Spain in 1996. Marty has spent time training with Arsenal in Brazil in 1994 and a stint in The Netherlands playing for Bunga Melati and training with the Dutch national squad in 2002.

Marty has been coaching at a state level for 21 years working with players from age 12 to open men’s and women’s teams in both NSW and QLD. He is a passionate coach who takes the time to build both the technical skills and tactical awareness of his playing group to assist players to become the best they can be.

Marty’s role with FAF will be to help steer and develop Futsal in Australia, Marty brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience in the game and will be an integral part of the Federations future development programs from grass roots Futsal to professional player development programs and pathways, he will also be involved with the structure of Coaching and Referee’s development programs helping shape the future of Futsal in Australia.
